The hottest desert in American named Death Valley, was this week in full bloom. Rangers suspect it has to do with extremely heavy rain last fall.
Normally there is about 5 centimeters of rain, but just in October 2015 there was no less than 3.75 cm of precipitation per year. This may result in the mostly barren valley bloom this month of thousand flowers. The average annual temperature is about 25 degrees – but it could be 50 degrees.
Death Valley is 86 meters below the sea surface: that the reason why it is so hot.
The result of this heat and dryness is not favorable for most of the seeds until it has rained a lot. And that’s what happened.
