A Japanese robot company Softbank opens in March ‘a pop-up phone shop’, where the staff consists entirely of robots.
Who is going to help you behind the counter? That’s Pepper the robot.
He was presented about 1.5 years ago and was designed to talk to people. He has a friendly appearance and Pepper can analyze body language and facial expressions. He can adapt to your behavior. Pepper is controlled by the transmission of commands and by means of a screen on his chest. He can also make jokes to people.
The phone store in Japan is an experiment to see if robots can be effectively used in stores. The robot consists of a staff shop manager, a robot that provides entertainment and a robot where it is possible to conclude a contract. We are curious.
