GoPro has launched some new products which are very promising.
The new Hero 5 camera is waterproof up to ten meters , making 12 megapixel photos and records videos in 4k . In addition, the screen on the back is a touch screen and the camera also responds to voice commands.
The touch screen is 2″ wide and the software is adjusted so that there are a few options that appear on the screen so that operations can be carried out more quickly. The camera is fully waterproof up to 10 meters. The camera also has image stabilization. The Voice Control understands nine different languages, including English, German, Spanish, French and Chinese. The camera will cost 429.99 euros and is available from 2 October.
The company has also released its first drone – Karma. GoPro has made the drone as small as possible. The quadcopter can be folded up and put in a special box. The stabilizer of Karma is also to pick out of the drone and usable as a handheld. The drone itself measures 303x411x117mm and for transport it can be fold to reduce that to 365x224x89mm.
It weighs 1006 grams and can fly up to 15 meters per second.
The stabilizer can be used on a Hero 5 Black, Session 4 Hero.
The handle is therefore called ‘Karma Grip’. The controller Karma uses a touchscreen and various hardware buttons and joysticks. The Karma controller can also be shared with image smartphones. Which may or control the image, but not the quadcopter itself.
The entire system will cost 869.99 euros and is available from October 23rd.
